Levine Cancer Institute:
Changing the Course of Cancer Care
Cancer batters entire families – physically, emotionally, and financially. At Levine Cancer Institute (LCI), we are changing the way people with cancer are treated in the Carolinas.
Levine Cancer Institute was formed in 2010 by Atrium Health (formerly known as Carolinas HealthCare System) as part of an innovative vision to bring world-class cancer care directly to our communities. Cancer specialists at LCI have developed standard treatment protocols to accelerate efficient, effective therapy and improve patients’ access to clinical research.
LCI’s renowned specialists and surgeons have a high level of expertise working with sarcomas. With access to the latest in treatment options, patients not only get the most accurate diagnosis, but the very best outcomes.

Supportive care in cancer is the prevention and management of the adverse affects of cancer and its treatments. This includes management of physical and psychological symptoms and side effects across the continuum of the cancer experience from diagnosis through treatment to post-treatment care. Enhancing rehabilitation, secondary cancer prevention, survivorship and the palliative care are integral to supportive care.
Our hope is to decrease symptoms, improve health, facilitate recovery and nurture well-being.
