The Paula Takacs Foundation is a Peer-to-Peer Partner of Imerman Angels, a global non-profit organization providing free, one-on-one emotional support to individuals, survivors and family members experiencing the challenges of cancer.

Imerman Angels’ mission is to provide comfort and understanding for all cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers through a personalized, one-on-one connection with someone who has been there.

Get One-on-One Support

Through their unique matching process, Imerman Angels partners anyone, any age, any gender, anywhere and any cancer type seeking support with someone just like them – a “Mentor Angel”. A Mentor Angel is a cancer survivor or caregiver who most importantly has faced the same type of cancer.

Their service is absolutely free. Peer connections are made in person, by phone, or via email.

Give One-on-One Support

As a sarcoma survivor or caregiver, you have the power to provide comfort to others and create special relationships that can last a lifetime! Please consider volunteering as a Mentor Angel to help others needing support!

Each Mentor Angel completes a profile detailing their personal experience with cancer. More than 40 comprehensive criteria are detailed including demographic information, cancer history and treatment. All of your information is kept confidential and is never shared with anyone except the person you agree to support.

Each applicant works with a staff member of Imerman Angels to get screened and trained. Mentor Angels remain in the matching database and will be contacted when a cancer fighter or caregiver seeking support registers for a match.

"When my brother, Alan was diagnosed with Pleomorphic Rhabdomyosarcoma, he felt so alone in his diagnosis. This is an extremely rare disease that typically strikes children and adolescents, not 47 year-olds. Our family turned to Imerman Angels for support, and Alan was quickly connected with 2 other patients with his Rhabdo diagnosis. Alan got off those phone calls smiling brightly. These Mentor Angels made him feel comforted, connected, and hopeful. Although he did not survive his cancer, I have no doubt that Alan would have paid forward his gratitude by being a Mentor Angel for Imerman Angels today!"
